A Weakening Economy, Swelling Unemployment

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has reported that the unemployment rate rose by 300,000 people from February 2014 to February of this year.

BPS Chief, Suryamin, said the number of unemployed persons rose 7.45 million-some 5.8 percent of the total workforce. "This is a result of the economic slowdown," said Suryamin last week.
